Karen's Thrifty Tips: Thursday, August 18th

I blogged about the tip that my friend Karen gave me, concerning the sale at Red Racks Thrift Store, last Sat.  Karen has gotten some fantastic deals there, a Liz Claiborne skirt, running shoes, just tons of great stuff, and all less than $2.
Karen says the best thing to do is go a couple of days early and scout out what you want, so that when you get there, in the midst of battle :)---you have a plan.  That way the crowd and chaos won't confuse and slow you down.  And Karen didn't say this, but I could tell from the note that she wrote me, she had made friends with the sales clerks, and they were glad to let her in on when the best prices were to be had.  This doesn't surprise me because Karen is such an upbeat person, you see her bright smile and immediately want to be her friend.

The other info Karen shared with me could really save on entertainment costs.  She said the Springfield Greene County Library loads their "new items" list on Wednesdays.  You can find out what new books, DVDs, CDs, are available, and you can place a hold right from your computer.

Thanks Karen for Thursday's Thrifty Tips!
Cindy
