I went to school this morning, not feeling great, but doable. So, my morning went pretty well. Around noon, I started feeling worse. It was really too late to get an afternoon sub, so I gritted my teeth, and pushed my way on through. (Aren't I a trooper:)
I finished the afternoon, canceled dinner plans with my daughter (which I never do, because between both of our work schedules it is really hard to get together0, and hit the bed, no later than 3:30 this afternoon.
I woke up at 6:35--thinking wow--I've slept about 15 hours. I jumped out of bed and started my morning routine. Shower, brush teeth, was face---I kept looking out wondering why it wasn't getting late--brushed my hair---by now, I'm starting to check my other clocks, because my alarm still hasn't gone off, and that's when you realize you need more rest :) it is PM, not AM.

Tonight I ran into a friend, who said that while she enjoyed reading my blog---the "Register Rewards" from Walgreen's always confused her. She said if I ever gave a class, she wanted to come :)
Here is one of the most important things to remember about "Register Rewards":
1) You can't use a "Register Reward" on the same item that gave you the "Register Reward".
Example: This week if you bought Burt's Bees Throat Drops, which were on sale for $1.99, you got a
"Register Reward" for $1.99. So basically you got the item free. You cannot use that "Register Reward"
from the Bert's Bees Throat Drops to buy another package of Bert's Bees Throat Drops. You can
use that "Register Reward" on another item, even if that item has a "Register Reward" for it.
Today I bought Bert's Bees Throat Drops for $1.99. I got my $1.99 "Register Reward". I then used my Bert's Bees "Register Reward" to buy Polygrip, which has a $2 "Register Reward". I used my $1.99 "Register Reward" from Bert's Bee's on the Polygrip, which made it FREE, and I got a $2 "Register Reward" after the purchase. So, I spent $1.99--I got $3.99 in "Register Rewards"--and 2 products, the throat drops and the Polygrip. Not a bad deal!
The thing with the "Register Rewards" is to start small. Like everything else, the more you do it, the better you get at it. Learning all the ins and outs, can get you some fantastic deals! I will fill you in a step at a time, and I think that will make the "Register Rewards" process easier to understand.

Birthday Party Circuit: Saturday, February 25th, 2012
I was talking to a friend today with 3 young children, and she mentioned birthday parties. I remember when my children were younger, it seemed as if we were at a birthday party every other weekend. Between family and friends of your children birthday presents can break the bank pretty quickly.

Never Too Early and Never Too Free: Friday, February 24th, 2012

It's never too early to Christmas shop. Right now, you can find fantastic gifts at unbelievable prices. I got a fantastic name brand item, normally around $25 at Christmas for only $1. I'd say what the item was , but the person that I'm giving it too, may be reading :)
If you have a fall birthday, right now is a great time to pick up a sweater. I got several at Penney's last weekend for $2.
Plan ahead for giving traditions that you always take part of. At one of my schools we always take part in the Scholastic pajama train. Last weekend at Penney's they had lots of winter pajamas for only $2 a pair. If you know that every holiday season you take part in a mitten tree, hat or scarf collection for impoverished children, at your church or social club, now is the time to pick those things up.
Also, everyone should have at least two baby outfits in their closet, one for a girl and one for a boy. Preferably have one that works for winter/fall, or spring/summer. Especially when you can get these things inexpensively. Everyone on occasion, knows an acquaintance they want to get a small baby gift for, just so they know you remembered them.
The key to this, is put all these things in the same place, the same closet, the same plastic tub etc. So that you don't forget where they are when the time comes that you need them.
To really be a saver, you have to think a little bit ahead, and be just a little bit organized, but it is well worth it, when the holidays are over, and you aren't worried about paying the bills.
