Finally after a 2 week drought, tomorrow's Sunday papers should include coupons once again.

Go to the "Cuties" facebook page, and like them, and you can print off a 75cts off coupon.  This is a great way to get kids to eat their fruits, because they get a kick out of the fact that they are so small.

Everything I Need to Buy is at...: Friday, December 31st, 2011

You may have read the book "Everything I Needed to Know, I Learned in Kindergarten", or at least heard of it.

Well today, as I was shopping for new reading glasses (a concession to age that I've made just this year :), it occurred to me, that everything I need to buy is at Dollar Tree.  This is of course a slight exaggeration, but only slight. 
There are certain things that I know not to spend much money on, because I know I will lose them in no time.  Sunglasses, lip balm, and now I can add reading glasses to this list.  As recently as a month ago, I had 5 pairs, I broke one pair, and can't locate 3 pair, so now I'm down to one.  I would like to have a pair at each of my work stations, a pair by my nightstand, a pair in the bathroom (I mean, admit it, everybody reads in the bathroom.  They have whole novels written just for the bathroom.), and a pair in the living room.
I was tempted to buy two pair at a local drug store, that had buy 1/get 1 free.  Even at that each pair were going to be about $12 each.  Then it dawned on me to look at Dollar Tree.  I got a very cute purple pair for only $1.

Cheap Last Minute Wrapping: December 24th, 2011

Merry Christmas Eve,

Do you not think that gift bags were the greatest thing ever invented?  I mean honestly, if the average American had to vote for the greatest invention/discovery of all time----are you going to vote for Einstein's Theory of Relativity (ooh I hope that's the right theory, science was never my strongest subject), or are you going to vote for the gift bag?

I have raved about Dollar Tree many times on my blog.  If Dollar Tree was a franchise, believe me, I would own one.  I had 2 gifts left to wrap, I bought 2 of the cutest Christmas gift bags that I have seen anywhere at Dollar Tree last night.

When it comes to greeting cards, decorative party items, gift wrap and balloons, you can't beat Dollar Tree!

Great Flick at the Cheap Show: Saturday, December 17th, 2011

Tonight I went and saw "Dolphin Tale" at the Palace.  It was a really good movie.
The rating was PG, but there was no violent language or any sexual references, so I'm not for sure why it would be rated PG.  The friend I went with, thought it might have had to do with the showing of the soldiers with prosthetic limbs.  I really don't think that children would be disturbed by that, especially the way in which the movie handled it.
The movie comes out in DVD on the 20th, so it would make a great gift----but it would also make a great outing to take your children to over the holidays.  And it's CHEAP :)

Sometimes you just step into a good thing.

I was at Walgreens picking up a prescription.  Their Revlon nail polish was on sale with a $1 in store coupon and a $3 Register Reward, which made it free.  Normally those types of items are a limit of one, but at this location the clerk said they had gotten double what they intended, so they weren't limiting.

Savings in the Most Unusual Places: Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

Many of us have stumbled upon a savings in the most of unusual places.

One great place to find really inexpensive unique items is the gift shop in both the Library Center and in the Library Station.
I never go to the library that I don't stop in.  The other day I found the cutest snowmen ornaments for only 75cts each.  Christmas bags were $1.50 or less, and they were big.
The other great thing about shopping in the library gift shop is that you know the profits from your purchase are going for a good cause.

Lots of great coupons this Sunday!  Remember buy as many papers as the coupons you will use will pay for.  It's a boost for our economy.  If everyone bought the number of papers that they could pay for with just the coupons that they use---the impact would be great.  For most people even if you use less than 5 of the coupons in each paper , you've made money.

Surprising Savings Source: Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

Saving money can be done in many ways, besides coupons, and savings suggestions can come from many places.

Today I was watching "Access Hollywood"  (I'm not proud of it, but I am admitting it.)  Snooki was being interviewed regarding her new book, which includes beauty tips.  One money saving tip that she promotes is making a facial mask out of water and kitty litter.  In the interview she made it very plain, that the kitty litter should be clean (DUH!)  When the reporter said, "That sounds gross."  Snooki agreed, but said it gave you beautiful skin.

I'm definitely wouldn't try this without getting exact directions from either Snooki's new book (sorry, you won't be able to borrow it from me, it's not a title that I am planning to purchase), or from an internet site, but if you try this, please let me know at booklady500@aol.com
